A particularly early variety that can be harvested as early as July. The blue-black fruits have golden flesh with an excellent flavour. Plum ‘Herman’ is best enjoyed freshly picked from the tree as a dessert fruit. This variety is self fertile – a useful trait in gardens where there is only room for one plum tree.

- VVA1 – Semi dwarf reaching a mature height of up to 2.5m (8′)
- St. Julien – Semi vigorous reaching a mature height of up to 4.5m (14′)
This variety is self-fertile and does not require a pollination partner.
