Ctenanthe Setosa

In common with other ‘Prayer Plants’, Ctenanthe boasts beautifully coloured and patterned leaves that inject energy into houseplant displays, but they are a little easier to look after than the closely related Calathea. Thin, bamboo-like stems support elliptical leaves with burgundy-pink undersides and pale-green upper surfaces with deeper green veins. Intriguingly, the leaves fold up at night like hands in prayer before opening again in the morning. Height: 1m (39in). Spread: 60cm (24in).
