This beguiling little perennial produces deep red, bell shaped flowers in mid-spring, from large furry buds. The blooms appear above clumps of finely dissected foliage, covered in a downy layer of hairs, giving a soft, fuzzy appearance. As the flowers fade, they are replaced by intriguing silky seed heads that extend the season of interest into summer. Pulsatilla rubra is a superb choice for well drained rockeries and gravel gardens, or planted in alpine troughs. Height: 25cm (10″). Spread: 20cm (8″).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
