Hardy deciduous shrub grown for its attractive twisted stems and yellow male catkins in late winter and early spring. The heart- shaped, toothed, mid green leaves are up to 10cm (4″) long. Slow growing, of more compact habit than most Corylus avellana varieties, and could be grown in a large patio container in sun or part shade, or planted in a shrub border. Grows in fertile, well drained soil, particularly likes chalky soils. Height: 150cm (59″). Spread: 150cm (59″).
