Fig trees are well known for their richly flavoured fruits, but often overlooked for their ornamental appeal. This carefully trained, half standard features a mop of enormous, lobed green leaves that lend an exotic feel to the garden. The magnificent head of leaves top a clear, upright stem that makes a superb focal point for a courtyard garden, or a leafy addition to tropical and Mediterranean planting schemes.
Ficus carica produces sweet, juicy figs from August to September. The fruits develop in the spring, and then ripen from August to September. A second crop may sometimes develop in late summer and, if protected, these will ripen the following summer. Height: 3m (9′). Spread: 2.5m (8′).
Plant height and spread is seasonal therefore we list by pot size rather than a defined plant size. The height and spread of the plant delivered will vary depending on the season, meaning arrival images are an indication only.
