Blueberry ‘Rubel’

Highly recommended by horticulturist and writer, James Wong, Blueberry ‘Rubel’ is renowned for its particularly high level of anthocyanins. Directly descended from wild blueberry plants collected in the forests of New Jersey in the early 1900s, its fruits are slightly smaller than some varieties but darker in colour and intensely flavoured. Blueberry ‘Rubel’ is disease-resistant and high yielding. Like other varieties, it not only produces delicious fruit but is an ornamental shrub in its own right, producing pretty spring flowers and stunning autumn foliage. Height: 200cm (79”). Spread: 100cm (39”).
