Blueberry ‘Jersey’ is late flowering and so especially well-suited to colder gardens where early flowers can get cut down by frost. It’s an old variety, and one of the most reliable, producing high yields of medium-sized fruits from late July to August. This mid-late season Blueberry is a perfect choice for combining with earlier cropping blueberries to extend the harvest season into late summer. Forms a tall, upright-growing deciduous shrub.
Blueberries are packed with health-boosting compounds and are especially delicious in pies, muffins and jams. These sturdy shrubs not only produce high crops of berries, but make attractive features for acidic borders or large patio containers filled with ericaceous compost. In spring they bear masses of sweetly scented creamy white flowers, followed by fiery crimson foliage in the autumn.
Self-fertile, like all Blueberries it will produce its best crops if grown with another Blueberry to increase pollination.
